FAST Hosts VIPs; Endorse Rick Scott for U.S. Senate

The Florida Association of State Troopers (FAST) was privileged to host a quartet of political and law enforcement VIPs at the Association’s Board of Directors meeting in St. Augustine.
Headlining the two-day event was an appearance by United States Senator Rick Scott via Zoom.
FAST Chairman Mike Kirby expressed the board’s sentiments as he announced FAST’ endorsement of Scott for reelection to the United States Senate.
“We are happy to have you join us this morning and are proud to endorse you for reelection to the U.S. Senate,” Kirby said.
“Our relationship goes back to your days as Florida Governor. Our first meeting was in the governor’s office in 2011, and we were privileged to meet with you annually during your tenure as governor.
Kirby went on to add: “Your support for the men and women of the Florida Highway Patrol launched an unprecedented increase in funding for FHP salaries and equipment that continues today.
“Because of your support for troopers and other first responders throughout Florida, today the Florida Highway Patrol is one of the premier law enforcement agencies in the country.
“We are proud and honored to call you our friend and to endorse you for reelection as a United States Senator representing all Floridians.”
Florida legislators Senator Corey Simon and Representative Chuck Brannan also joined the directors.
Simon, a former FSU All American and sixth overall pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2000 NFL Draft, is a first term state Senator elected in 2022, serving the 3rd District which includes Tallahassee.
